Some of the district’s top ‘home-grown’ talent will be celebrated at Incommunities’ 2008 home and garden show (Monday,15 Sept).
The event takes place at the Midland Hotel in Bradford from 1.30pm to 5pm and promises to be a fun-packed occasion featuring:-
• a stunning flower arranging demonstration
• a special gardeners’ question time
• an antiques and collectables masterclass
• plus the presentation of this year’s home and garden awards.
The line up of special guests includes BBC gardening presenter Christine Walkden, ‘Cash in the Attic’ TV antiques expert Paul Hayes and top floral designer Jonathan Moseley.
Over 70 Incommunities tenants entered this year’s show by sending in photos of their blooming gardens, floral displays, stunning patios and colourful borders. For the first time, the competition was opened up to people who had special collections in their homes of everything from rock memorabilia to pottery.
The show will round off with the presentation of prizes and specially engraved trophies to the lucky tenants judged to have the top garden, outdoor displays and home collections.
There will also be a free prize raffle for everyone who comes along to the event with lots of special gifts to giveaway.
Geraldine Howley, Group Chief Executive of Incommunities said: “Every year the home and garden show attracts an amazing range of entries which show the pride that people have in where they live and their neighbourhood.
“I’m thrilled that this year we are joined by TV gardener Christine Walkden, antiques expert Paul Hayes and Jonathan Moseley who wooed last year’s audience with his floral displays. It promises to be a fabulous event.”
Martin Smith, Group Chairman of Incommunities said: “This year’s event looks like being another great show and a celebration of the creativity talents of Incommunities tenants from around the district.
“A big thank you to the Telegraph & Argus and Wates Construction who are kindly sponsoring the show.”
All the prize winners will be announced at the home and garden show.
