Neighbourhood team calling out for all green fingers in the Coach Road area
The Neighbourhood Team want any one to come forward who would be interested in being involved in a community garden in the Coach Road area.
The area of land next to the shops on Coach Road is in need of a re-vamp! And we would like to get residents involved in maintaining the garden, so it can become a focal point for the community. Working along side the Neighbourhood Team interested individuals would help make a bid for funding for the much needed equipment and plants. If the bid was successful the individuals would then work with other local residents to create and maintain the garden!
Fancy it? Then call the Neighbourhood Team as soon as possible!!
Community Garden Leeds Road
At the recent walkabout of the Alma area some residents expressed an interest in being involved in creating community gardens in front of the flats on Leeds Road. If you are interested in taking part and maintaining a community garden then please call the Neighbourhood Team.
Ivy Bank Court goes Green!!
Residents at Ivy Bank can now recycle in style with the help of 4 new recycling bins. Residents requested the bins at their recent focus group as they wanted to become a ‘bit greener’ and the Neighbourhood Team were only too happy to get involved and help out with their request.
The councils Recycling Services have provided two bins for paper and two bins for cans and bottles for the residents of Ivy Bank.
If you want something similar for your Neighbourhood, then give the Neighbourhood Team a call!
Wrose telephone conference
Last month, ten residents in Wrose took part in our first telephone conference. It meant residents could give their views from the comfort of their own home instead of going along to a focus group meeting. The phone meeting was a big success, a big thank you to all involved.
Thank you Thornbury B&Q!
Over the last three years Harry Broadbent and neighbours Ellen Speirs and Mat McKay of Knoll gardens, Baildon have been working very hard to create a beautiful garden at the front of the complex and thanks to Thornbury B&Q, the garden and the equipment has had an injection of life! With the help of B&Q’s Better Neighbourhood Grant scheme, Harry was able to hand pick items from a water but to winter pansies up to the cost of £500!! Harry said: “The Trust and B&Q have been brilliant and the grant has paid for all sorts, including new tools.” Thanks once again to Thornbury B&Q and their staff!
